If your familiar with Scott Schuman and The Satoralist blog, you will be happy to know that his book of photography will be released on August 12th and is available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
I get a lot of inspiration from his blog and the people that he photographs around the world. I've already reserved mine so get on it!!
The Satorialist Book: August 12th
iPhone or Sidekick
I've been going through this debate with myself as to wether or not I should convert to an iPhone. It would be so good for my lifestyle and keeping things in order not to mention all the apps!
Right now I have a Sidekick LX and I've been considering upgrading to the new one that was just released. I don't like to just read what's on the site and get things. I need to talk with someone who has the phone who can tell me what they like and show me the features but I don't know
anyone that has the new sidekick.
I'm up in the air about it. Switching to an iPhone would mean switching providers and I don't think I want to go to At&t. I like T-mobile.
So what do you think? Would u switch? Who would you choose?
Zara Shoe Obession: Please Help!!!
I saw these navy blue, satin, strappy, platform heels at the Zara store by Metro Center last night and they didn't have my size. I thought it was no big deal until I went home and thought of all the outfits in my closet those shoes would go perfect with. Now I'm obsessed!!! I'm going to the Zara in Montgomery Mall tonight in hopes that they have my size. If not then I will have to go to the one in Georgetown. This is a problem. I don't think I'm going to be content without them :(
Camera for Me: Nixon D60
I am seriously obsessed. Even since I have become interested this camera, I have been seeing it everywhere.
I have to have it. I want to have a professional camera that will lessen my need for editing. I know editing is important no matter what camera you use. But I still think it's good to have a really good camera for different functions. I have a Kodak camera that I got last summer and it works very well for quick shots around town with friends, but the Nikon has a great features for taking fashion shots and I could really use that.
The only drawback is that a tripod doesn't come with it so I will have to buy it separately.
The original price is $695.00. I know!! But the price has dropped to about $500.00 which is a pretty decent drop. But since we're talkin about my broke ass...I needs better. I could buy it now but I think I will wait a little while longer to see if I can get a better deal. With my luck they'll come out with a newer one, and with a tripod. Woot!
eLuxury.com Shutting Down
So, I just found out from Stylehog.com that sLuxury the online retailer will be shutting down or converting rather. It will soon become a blog site for it's parent company LVMH to post information on its fashion labels such at Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and others.
I'm a little disappointed at this news because I really like the sight and have bought a few things from them over the years even though it is expensive. But I am also interested in finding out how the blog turns out. Hopefully it goes well.
Seeing that a lot of people can't afford to buy the expensive merchandise on eLuxury.com except for maybe once in a blue moon like me, I can't wait to see what happens to the inventory. Zack Posen dresses and jackets and Gaultier shoes for 60%- 70% off! It can't get any better than that. I guess if the site carried Dries Van Noten shoes it could. I've been trying to get my hands on that label to add to my collection.
Here are a few things that I am (wishfully) thinking will go on sale before the shut down
This 3.1 Phillip Lim top for $625.00

A structured jacket from Zac Posen at $1,440

And last but not least a pair of Jean Paul Gaultier shoes for $995.00
I know those prices are pretty high and to think that they will go for a decent price is "crazy" status. Hey! Let me have my dream!
Bringin' in the New Year, Yay!!!
Happy New Year everyone!!!
I am soooo excited about this year and what it has the potential to bring. I know some people who rather not make new years resolutions but me on the other hand....I like to plan ahead. This new year can be whatever you make it and I felt it was the perfect time for me to start posting on Style Addiction blog.
This blog has been a long time in the making as some of you know. I had been back and forth with what I wanted the content to be about. I am a fashion addict and it's what I live and breathe everyday so it only made sense that fashion be one of the topics of this blog. But that isn't all that I am addicted to. Fashion is only an addition to a lifestyle. One can not be without the other. So this year (and so on) I plan to bring different topics and subjects. I encourage questions, suggestions and comments. Email me, I love to chat.
So for my goals this year, here are a few (the original list is pretty long):
1. Be active in the blog sphere
2. Continue building my fashion collection
3. Get more styling gigs
4. Enhance my makeup application skills
5. Spend more time with family
6. Graduate
7. Pay off some bills
8. Become a better cook
9. Plan a trip out of the country for myself
Oh that's not even the half. You have not idea. So look forward to hearing more from me and I wish you all many blessings and adventures in 2009.
