LaTanya B. I LOVE fashion and art. Outside of work (and sometime during work lol!) this is where my head is. I love anything that can express feeling and emotion whether it be music, poetry, dance, art, books and even fashion which I consider an art in itself. My advice is to do whatever brings peace and joy to your life even if your not doing it for a living. Who knows, things can change:) I hope this blog brings happiness and light. Peace & Love, L.B.

Mariel Haenn: Stylist

If there is any stylist I would dream of working for and assisting it would be Mariel Haenn. I have been keeping track of her work for a long time now and she is hands down the best out there right now.

Everyone knows her from her work styling Rihanna but she's worked and still works with a lot of celebrities such as Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith, Ciara, the Simmons Girls (Angela & Vanessa), Megan Good, and others.

Here's some of the looks she created for celebrities we know.

And of course Rihanna.

Victory Ford's Wardrobe

After watching the last Project Runway episode where the contestants had to design a garment for Brooke Sheilds to wear on her show Lipstick Jungle, I was surprised that I had not ever heard of this show before. I have no idea how this show could have possibly when over my head. I mean, I know people rarely watch local channels on tv anymore but since it is very fashion oriented I would think I would at least hear a buzz. I even heard about Cashmere Mafia which only a short blip. I didn't even get a chance to catch an episode. Anyway, enough with the grumbling.... lets talk about the clothes.

I decided to take a look at an episode of the show online and ended up watching the whole season in a few hours and I'm hooked. So I have become a very committed viewer to the second season. Not only is the story good, but the clothes...gorgeous!!

First, as you all may have guessed, my favorite character on the show is Victory, played by Lindsay Price, who is a fashion designer trying to pull her company out of a ruff patch. I loooove her. She's so fierce. I mean I would die for her wardrobe. I'm not really into Brooks Sheild's character Wendy's wardrobe, but I love Nico's played by Kim Raver. She has the really power woman wardrobe.

Here are a few peices from Victory Ford's character that I liked.

They say a neutral colored trench coat should be in every girls closet and I think this coat is very chic, expecially with the red belt.

I also liked this party dress that she wore in one of the episodes in the first season.

This one I really liked the most. I don't own anything draped or anything mini. It's something I really would add to my closet and find use for.

Addiction: Accessories

Lately, I have become very interested in accesories. I tell myself that it is okay to spend a lot of money on an accessory because you don't have to worry about it getting to small or getting old. Bags, shoes, jewelry; they can always be worn again. There like collectibles which they have become for me. The enhance any wardrobe.

For instance, my day to day wardrobe is rather plain (something I hope to change), and without accessories it would be shameful! On a normal casual day I would probably wear a v-neck tshirt from American Apparel or Hanes and some jeans. It could look homely or unexciting without some jewelry, a nice handbag or some heels (please not all three).

Considering the issues of our dear ole free market economy, I feel spending my hard earned cash on accessories that accent my wardrobe is okay. And I feel like I am still shopping consiously. Well at least this is what I can tell myself.

Bringin' in the New Year, Yay!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!!

I am soooo excited about this year and what it has the potential to bring. I know some people who rather not make new years resolutions but me on the other hand....I like to plan ahead. This new year can be whatever you make it and I felt it was the perfect time for me to start posting on Style Addiction blog.

This blog has been a long time in the making as some of you know. I had been back and forth with what I wanted the content to be about. I am a fashion addict and it's what I live and breathe everyday so it only made sense that fashion be one of the topics of this blog. But that isn't all that I am addicted to. Fashion is only an addition to a lifestyle. One can not be without the other. So this year (and so on) I plan to bring different topics and subjects. I encourage questions, suggestions and comments. Email me, I love to chat.

So for my goals this year, here are a few (the original list is pretty long):

1. Be active in the blog sphere
2. Continue building my fashion collection
3. Get more styling gigs
4. Enhance my makeup application skills
5. Spend more time with family
6. Graduate
7. Pay off some bills
8. Become a better cook
9. Plan a trip out of the country for myself

Oh that's not even the half. You have not idea. So look forward to hearing more from me and I wish you all many blessings and adventures in 2009.
